About the Role
As an Orthotist, you will provide Orthotic services to patients of Health New Zealand – Te Tai Tokerau in any clinical area. You will deliver safe, effective, and innovative care that is person- and whānau-centred, with a focus on meaningful outcomes. As an Orthotist, you will work within a multi-disciplinary framework, where the majority of your working time is patient related.
Orthotic supports provide assistance in rehabilitation and in the management of disabilities. The purpose of an orthotic support is to prevent or correct abnormality, to assist or restore function or to immobilize joints, limbs or muscles or to aid healing. The service provides a range of braces and supports from head to toe, accommodative footwear and foot supports and is available to all Northland residents and visitors to Northland.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team works from our Orthotics department based within Whangarei hospital which contains 2 fabrication workshops. We work across the wards, ED, Theatres, outpatient departments and the community, providing services to those in acute need as well as longer term conditions. We have strong relationships and work closely with podiatry, Child health and our orthopaedic colleagues to name just a few.
The Whangārei Hospital Orthotic Department currently has 2 very experienced Orthotists and an assistant, we are looking to replace our third Orthotist position.

About you
As an Orthotist, you will bring your excellent communication and organisational skills and have a strong commitment to ccontinuous quality improvement.
In addition, you will have:
· Recognised tertiary degree or diploma based Orthotic qualification
· Current drivers’ licence
